Band of the Week: Infant Sorrow

Infant Sorrow is, duh, one of my favorite bands. Aldous Snow and boys have been rockin' since the early 80's, pumpin' out famous tunes like We've Got to Do Something, Inside of You, and Bangers, Beans and Mash.

Lead Singer Aldous Snow.

You might not know this band, and I don't blame you, they surely aren't as famous as NKOTB. To jog your memory, check out this classic music video:

Yeah, they sound familiar right? See. They are one of those rare bands that managed to put out several well-known songs but never became a household name like the Beatles or Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.

This band has had a mixed history. In the eighties they started out with a more straightforward hard rock sound, somewhere in between Aerosmith and Poison. As they went into the nineties they turned more into the Infant Sorrow that we know today. They put out the powerful anthems at the end of the 90's, We've Got to Do Something and Inside of You. They are near and dear to my <3.

But, unfortunately, it seems like the mighty always fall. Aldous fell off the earth after several stints in rehab, eventually cleaning himself up. But, he doesn't write as good music sober as he does on drugs. They have tried a few revivals, putting out garbage like African Child (2009).

Thank god they are back on track after that disaster. Since African Child they have had their 30 year reunion tour, and it seems like they will be going back to their original style. Every band has that one album, or phase, where they go off the deep end -- why not Infant Sorrow?
