A Celebration of Motown at the White House

Smokey Robinson, Sheryl Crow, Jamie Foxx, Ledisi, John Legend, Seal and other musicians performed at the White House last night for a special evening titled "The Motown Sound: In Performance at the White House". The event was given in celebration of Black History Month and the legacy of Motown, the distinctive soul-infused pop music sound, style and presentation that was born in Detroit and embodied by the Motown Records label.

John Legend performed Stevie Wonder's "Love's in Need of Love". During his set, he shared some of his Motown childhood memories, and how his father and uncle inspired his love for music.

Smokey Robinson took the stage with Sheryl Crow for a duet on his hit, "You Really Got a Hold on Me,' and then Stevie Wonder followed with his classic, "You Are the Sunshine of My Life."

Stevie Wonder also thanked Motown's very own Berry Gordy: "Berry, thank you for this incredible Motown ride".

"The Motown Sound: In Performance at the White House" will air on PBS Tuesday, March 1st. Check for local listings here.

Golden Globes Fashion Report is HERE !

Award of the Most stylish ladies:

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace
The sexy mother of 6 donned a stunning long sleeve Versace gown.
We love the color! Not only because it isn't black, but the emerald green is just beautiful on her.

Nathalie Portman
The Black Swan actress was glowing in a Viktor & Rolf couture column dress that was accented with a red Swarovski rose.

Our FAVORITE Look of the Red Carpet : Olivia wilde in Marchesa
The Tron actress went for an over the top Marchesa ball gown and she looks fierce! By far our number one gown!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOW, time for the fashion fails! Sorry Ladies, but we got to go there one day or another !
January Jones from Mad Men in Atelier Versace ... What to say , except that we loveeeeeeeeee the dress but ... simply not on her ~
Kelly Osbourne is a cuttie... She looks much better than she used to (Remember???) But we just think people say they liked her Zac Posen gown only to be nice to her after she lost 250 kilos... to be fair , this gown has nothing amazing to offer, and seems Deja-vu...
Heidi Klum
First of all, that Marc Jacobs spring 2011 dress was way too casual for such a prestigious event.
And second her hair and makeup was terrible.
You look like you've just been casted for the brand new season of Jersey Shore love! Time to realize that you are not 20 anymore !
Seal To Release 'Hits' Album On December 8
SEAL TO RELEASE HITS ALBUM DECEMBER 8
Multi-Platinum Singer-Songwriter Delivers Greatest Hits Package From His Chart-Topping Albums
Grammy-winning vocalist and songwriter Seal will release a collection of his greatest songs on one CD, HITS, to be released December 8, 2009 on Warner Bros. Records. Fans can purchase a CD or CD/DVD package which includes the Seal 'Soul Live' dvd with nine amazing live performances from his worldwide hit album Soul.
Seal Hits will span the artist’s 20 year career and be comprised of sixteen of Seal’s biggest hit songs, along with two brand new tracks. These two new recordings, produced by David Foster, extend the concept of Seal’s hugely successful 2008 covers album, Soul, which has sold more than three million units worldwide and received international critical acclaim. Seal brings his unique and exquisite vocal style to “I Am Your Man” written by Ashford & Simpson, first recorded by Bobby Taylor, and the Sly and The Family Stone classic “Thank You”. Seal is currently in the studio recording a new album of original material to be released in 2010.
The London-born Seal first emerged from Britain’s house music scene in the early ’90s providing vocals and lyrics for techno artist Adamski’s 1990 hit “Killer.” The Top Ten debut single, “Crazy,” followed and Seal would go on to earn critical acclaim and worldwide commercial success over five albums. Seal’s prodigious vocal gifts — his soaring, husky baritone that has become a signature on such hits as “Prayer for the Dying,” “Kiss From a Rose,” and “Don’t Cry” — amplify the emotion he brings to a song.
