Givenchy Resort 2012 Collection

A sure sign that Riccardo Tisci's Fall collection for Givenchy was a hit: Zara already has its own version of the black panther print T-shirt in stores. Here's another one: The designer himself revisited the purple-and-yellow-on-black floral today, taking photos of the original prints and digitally manipulating them for sweatshirts cropped above the bust, button-down blouses, and narrow pencil skirts. (That body-loving silhouette also turned up in vivid bird of paradise patterns.)

Similarly, Tisci traded in Fall's baseball motifs for basketball mesh and surfing references, accessorizing looks with crocodile-trim sun visors and logo'd lanyard necklaces (logos are becoming a surprising, tongue-in-cheek trend this season). The b-ball mesh, used on boxy tees bedecked with huge blooms, gave the collection a sporty tone that seems apt for Resort.Still, the number that we left dreaming about was the dressiest of the bunch, a navy double-silk long dress with a 1950's-style swimsuit bodice topped by a super-cropped black sweater. It also happens to be Tisci's favorite. In fact, he's so in love with pinups he reported that the menswear collection he'll show in ten days is influenced by them. As for his upcoming Couture collection, he wouldn't say. And the Dior rumors? His lips were sealed on that, too, but from this perspective, his Resort collection looks like a designer in confident, I-can-do-anything mode.

This Morning I woke up with a great idea ... Should I contact Mr. Arnault to replace John at Dior !

John Galliano's dismissal by Christian Dior leaves one of the most prestigious roles in fashion suddenly vacant. The man making the decision about his replacement is Bernard Arnault, the chief executive of LVMH, which owns Dior.

The frontrunner is thought to be the 36-year-old Italian designer Riccardo Tisci, who has won increasing acclaim over the past five years designing Givenchy, another LVMH brand. Tisci is well connected in the Paris fashion world, with close ties to French Vogue.

Were Tisci to land the role, it would be a case of history repeating itself: Galliano was at Givenchy before getting the Dior job.

Bernard Arnault Prefers John Galliano to Marc Jacobs... And the latter musn't be really happy about that!

Designers are friends no matter what ... ??!!

"I could have asked many other talented designers to do Dior, but it would not have been the same," Arnault told Tatler Asia. "Take Marc Jacobs, he has been a fantastic success at Vuitton and he has a proximity to the Vuitton spirit, but I don't think it would have been a success with Jacobs at Dior and the other way around, if I had asked John [Galliano] to do Vuitton, it would not have worked. An essential ingredient in the success of the brand today is the real proximity of Galliano to the talent of Christian Dior."
Before each collection is shown, Arnault and Galliano meet at the LVMH offices in Paris to discuss the designs. "We meet in this room," says Arnault. "I say, 'John, I think we should do something else.' What you have done is too extravagant. For Dior it's all about the details and John listens." [Tatler Asia]

Freja Beha Erichsen for Vogue UK February 2011

Always glamorous and with just enough edge to keep us guessing, Freja Beha Erichsen appears in the February issue of Vogue UK with "Look Forward". In front of the lens of Patrick Demarchelier, Freja keeps it classy , sexy and high fashion when posing in the hot items of the coming season collections.

What is your favorite look?

I am say I love the girly touch of the English Lace on the Dolce & Gabbana outfit but I also die for the Balenciaga TOTAL LOOK ! This skirt is to die for and it surprisingly goes very well with those flats... which is pretty unexpected in such a Rock'n'Roll/ Trash-Chic outfit... We are just obssessed BUT when it comes to Cavalli and Dior... We just don't get it ... WHY choose those 2 outfits ( Oh yeah and the Ralph Lauren pic is not much better) : street girl or trashy cow-girl/Dolly Parton Style... Thanks a lot ... but no thanks ... So many other wonderful outfits out there ... Why did they choose this ??? Why !
