Get To Know Canada’s Nikki Yanofsky

Nikky Yanofski

After her performance of the Canadian national anthem at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and her number one single "I Believe," Nikki Yanofsky is on her way to becoming a household name in her native Canada. Now, this tiny 16-year-old singer with a larger-than-life voice is looking to take the US and the rest of the world by storm with her debut album Nikki, out May 4th.  She got her start with jazz at age 12 as the youngest singer to ever headline the Montreal International Jazz Festival, but admits that while jazz is her first love, she takes her inspiration from all types of music.

In her new EPK Nikki says with a smile, "You can say jazz, you can say pop singer, you can say R&B singer, soul singer, blues singer... I just consider myself a singer."  Her upcoming album, a mix of covers and original songs, will showcase all of these influences.  In the meantime, watch the EPK to learn more about this talented teen - everything from how she spends her spare time, her passion for poetry and songwriting, and her hope to inspire others to follow their dreams - and look for Nikki in stores on May 4th.  For additional information, visit NikkiYanofsky.com.
